Dr. Patrick M Boyle is an Associate Professor in the Bioengineering Department at the University of Washington. He is a member of the UW Center for Cardiovascular Biology and the Institute for Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine. He completed his BSc (2005) in Computer Engineering and his PhD (2011) in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Calgary, located in his hometown of Calgary, Alberta, Canada. From 2011 to 2018, he was an NSERC Postdoctoral Fellow and then an Assistant Research Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. In 2017, he was inducted as a Fellow of the Heart Rhythm Society. In 2023, he was inducted as a Fellow of the American Heart Association. He is licensed as a professional engineer (P.Eng.) by the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta.

When he is not busy doing science, Pat enjoys playing with his kids, listening to music, solving crosswords, and watching hockey. Sometimes all at the same time. You can call him Dr. Boyle or Prof. Boyle if you desperately want to, but he really prefers just plain old Pat 🙂
