Lahari Gorantla, BS, MS
Alumni
Lahari Gorantla graduated with a BS/MS degree in Bioengineering. She graduated with her MS in Buddy Ratner’s lab and her thesis was on Novel Biodegradable Polymer based on Low Molecular Weight Hydrolyzing Units. She is interested in exploring the story behind pathologies and biomedical problems with data science, machine learning, and computational modeling. She is currently working as an associate data scientist at NanoString Technologies. Beyond her studies, she is interested in painting, kayaking, and cooking.
In the CardSS Lab, Lahari helped develop the image extraction and analysis pipeline for our collaborative project that seeks to use machine learning to predict the onset of cardiomyopathy in childhood cancer survivors. Her work on this project earned her co-authorship on a peer-reviewed conference abstract presented at a major international meeting, as well as a manuscript in preparation.
