Issac Kim, BS, BA, MS
Alumni
Issac Kim was a BS and MS student in the UW College of Engineering: Bioengineering department. She became a CardSS Lab member early in her undergraduate journey. Her capstone project studying the incorporation of an AFib model in a human-scale modeling platform blossomed into an exciting MS thesis project, which she defended successfully in June 2025. Her other research interests lie at the intersection of cardiac engineering in relation to regenerative medicine and health care accessibility. In achieving new heights in the field of biomedicine and health care, Issac hopes to one day attend medical school for cardiology after her studies in Bioengineering and Social Welfare. After leaving the lab, she accepted an Upper School Science teaching position at The Bush School in Seattle.
Outside of her studies, Issac enjoys rock climbing, aerial yoga, and hiking the Pacific Northwest. And occasionally, she explores the sand dunes and canyons around the U.S with her 16 lb backpack and two cats!
