Vinay is an incoming Ph.D in the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Washington. He graduated in 2021 with honors with an undergraduate degree in Chemistry and later a master’s degree in Bioengineering from the University of California, San Diego. His thesis and research focused on leveraging the microcirculation for treatment of Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome, Hemorrhagic Shock, and Neoplasia. Since then, Vinay worked as both a software and mechanical/electrical systems engineer for biomedical device companies including Hologic and Becton Dickenson (BD), where he was integral in the development of both new and updates to existing products including the Alaris System. As a rotation student in the CardSS Lab, he will be working on our new funded project studying arrhythmia mechanisms in patients with single ventricle disease.
Outside of research, Vinay enjoys video games, Spartan Races, and American Ninja Warrior training.
