Kaviya Muralidharan, BS

Alumni

Kaviya graduated in Spring 2026 with a degree in Bioengineering and an option in Data Science from the University of Washington. She joined the Cardiac Systems Simulation (CardSS) Lab her junior year, where she worked with Dr. Åshild Telle on projects focused on atrial fibrillation in the left atrium. Through her work with electroanatomical mapping (EAM) data, and Universal Atrial Coordinates (UACs), she developed skills in cardiac modeling and data analysis while enabling the investigation of structural and electrical relationships associated with AFib. She also consulted extensively with Drs. Ahmad Kassar and Romanos Haykal, who served as key clinical stakeholders on this work.

Outside of CardSS, Kaviya was involved in the Cognition and Cortical Dynamics Lab (CCDL), where she contributed to research investigating transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) therapy for patients with Alzheimer’s disease. Her experiences across both labs strengthened her interests in the intersection of engineering, medicine, and patient care.

Following graduation, Kaviya will pursue a Master of Science in Bioengineering at the University of Pennsylvania, where she hopes to continue developing technologies and research that improve patient outcomes
